Reps set to probe Aregbesola over NCS’ N165bn spending
The House of Representatives has called for an investigation into the “appalling” working conditions of staff and obselete weapons being used at the Nigeria Correctional Service, NCS’.
The house said the service has deteriorated despite a budgetary allocation of N165billion to it in the last two years. The NCS is under the purview of Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola.
Hon Ndudi Elumelu, the House Minority Leader, raised the issue under matter of urgent public importance.

“He added that despite increased budgetary allocations to the service in recent times, the personnel still bought their service uniforms and other kits for operational purposes from their own pockets.
Speaker, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila,/ mandated the Committee on Reformatory Institutions to conduct the investigation and report back within 8 weeks.
