Reps order probe into importation of contaminated fuel

The House of Representatives has urged a probe of petroleum companies behind the importation of contaminated Premium Motor Spirit, (PMS).

Hon Mohammed Monguno, the chief whip of the lower parliament, raised the motion during plenary o Thursday.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company has been asked to probe the four companies alleged to have imported the contaminated fuel.

The representatives equally directed its committee on petroleum downstream to investigate the release and sale of the off-spec Premium Motor Spirit by petrol stations across the country.
