Portable recants, says ‘One Million Boys’ represent his fan base

Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, has recanted his earlier claim of founding the dreaded cult group, One Million Boys.

The cult group is notorious for attacking and robbing residents of Lagos and Ogun states.

Portable had made the claim in a video that went viral on Monday.

“Open your ears and hear me, Have you heard about Ajah Boys, One Million Boys, I’m their founder. Go and ask Sammy larry,” the singer said in Yoruba. He has since deleted the video.

In another video, Portable said, “Do you know what One Million Boys means? Fans are called One Million Boys. I cannot fight but I have back up. “For instance, a pastor can say he has One Million people behind him, an herbalist has One Million people behind him.

“I am a child of God; I have plenty of people behind me. If I say One Million Boys, I mean Fans. I am an angel. If you hurt me, I have those that will fight for me.

“I am not a thief. It is not that notorious One Million Boys.”

Following Portable’s initial claim, the Inspector-general of police ordered the commissioner of police in Lagos to investigate the singer’s claim and take appropriate legal action.

“Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.

“This directive is premised on the continuous effort of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society,”  CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, said in a statement.
