Police impersonator to exam hall caught after failing salute test

In what seemed like a scene from a movie thriller, a man had attempted to pull off a ruse by adorning a police uniform to an examination hall. His mission: to help his younger sister cheat in the exam.

The arrival of some police officers, who had gone to maintain order at the examination venue, exposed the impersonator.

According to India Today, the police officers saw the impersonator Anupam Madan Khandare, 24. Since he was wearing the rank of a senior police officer, they gave him a salute. But Anupam responded to the salute incorrectly, arousing their suspicion about him. Equally, the nameplate on Anupam’s uniform was incorrect.

After a thorough investigation, the man’s fraudulent act came to light when the police discovered a copy of an English test paper in his pocket.

Following this, the police arrested the impersonator and filed a case against him. He was then taken into custody.
