23 killed in bandits attack on Kaduna village

Bandits have killed 23 persons in Anguwar Danko village of Kakangi constituency in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State.

As per Daily Trust report, the bandits in their numbers invaded the community on Wednesday, firing gunshots sporadically. They also abducted dozens of residents, the report said.

Residents said the bandits operated unhindered in the community, which is about 10 kilometres from Dogon Dawa village in the same LGA.

Yahaya Musa Dan Salio, the representative for Kakangi Ward in the State House of Assembly, confirmed the death toll. He also said that five persons sustained injuries in the attack.

“There were casualties following Wednesday’s invasion in my constituency because so far 23 people were confirmed killed by the bandits. 19 at Anguwar Danko while 4 were killed at Kanawa village. They were buried this morning (Thursday),” he said.

He said cows were also rustled from the community during the attack.
