Abducted senior police officer rescued

A superintendent of police, Nwapi Augustus, has regained his freedom from the captivity of unknown gunmen.

The captors had seized him on Jan. 11.

Augustus is the divisional police officer Pankshin Police Division.

In a statement, DSP Alfred Alabo, the public relations officer of the Plateaue Police Command, announced Nwapi’s rescue.

Alabo said that other security agencies and hunters were involved in Nwapi’s rescue.

”The officer has been taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment, and will soon be reunited with his family,” he said.

The police said they were on the trail of the kidnappers
