‘Our incoming president Tinubu has no time for detractors’, says Jibrin
Abdulmumin Jibrin, the director-general of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu presidential campaign says the latter has “no time for distraction and detractors”.
Jibrin, an executive director at the Federal Housing Authority, FHA, stated this in a string of tweets on Saturday.
“Our incoming president 2023, Alh Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is focused locking down various geopolitical zones and consolidating on the South-West. No time for distraction and detractors.,” he said, and added rather jocularly, “Wait, hope this also doesn’t amount to “serious misconduct”? Just checking. I want peace”
Jibrin’s allusion to whether his tweet amount a “serious misconduct” has confirmed initial insinuations about his summons before a disciplinary panel.
Zubairu Salihu, chairman of FHA’s investigative/disciplinary committee, had accused Jubrin of failing to respond to a query issued him and, at the same time, stated he was to appear before the panel last Friday.
In another tweet on Sunday, Jibrin made a subtle innuendo at promoters of an unnamed presidential aspirant.
He said: “Sponsor as many opinion (sic) and polls on twitter, FB, Instagram etc. At least consultants will make money. Our own opinion polls are where it matters most, where the voters are- 176,846 polling units! That is where we know VERY WELL and been investing our time and energy for decades.”
Tinubu is believed to have a contender for the presidency in person of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who seems to have gained social media popularity lately. Osinbajo’s social media supporters have given him a moniker, ‘Starboy’ – a sobriquet by which popular Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun (Wizkid) is known by.
Although, Osinbajo has yet to declare his intention to contest the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress, but he appears to have set his foot soldiers to work.
Lately also, the vice president has busied himself with courtesy and commiserative visits, in an apparent bid to gain visibility and shore up his approval ratings prior 2023.
