Northern monarch kidnapped

A traditional head in Zamfara state, Ibrahim Sarkin Fada, has been kidnapped. Fada is the district head of Kasuwar Daji in the Kaura-Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara.

Some gunmen seized him at his residence on Thursday and his whereabouts is unknown.

The attackers reportedly stormed the community in their numbers and went straight for Fada.

Report has that the armed kidnappers shot sporadically in the community before they made away with their victim.
