Nigeria earned $3.4 billion from Chevron In Three Years – officials
Clay Neff, president of Chevron International Exploration and Production, has revealed that its organization paid in taxes and remittances to the Federal Government of Nigeria a sum of $3.4 billion in three years.
He made the claim during a meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday.
Neff also told President Tinubu that his organization had taken various initiatives to scale up its business in Nigeria, including securing $1.4 billion funding meant for drilling 37 oil wells in Escravos and on related activities. Neff expressed his optimism that Nigeria’s 60 years old collaboration with the oil company would continue.
”The bold steps you have taken since you assumed office are quite impressive. We are encouraged by our partnership of over 60 years, and we look forward, God willing, to continue that partnership for many decades to come,” he reportedly told President Tinubu.
The statement also said President Tinubu assured his guests of his administration’s readiness to attend to issues affecting the corporations activities in Nigeria.
”Nigeria is proud of the 60-year partnership with Chevron, and we believe this partnership will be strengthened to add mutually-beneficial value for the benefit of your shareholders as well as the living standards and economic opportunities of our population,” President Tinubu said.
