Mr. Ibu’s wife refutes sundry allegations
Maria Okafor, wife of ailing comic, John Okafor, popularly known as ‘Mr. Ibu’, has refuted sundry allegations leveled against her by internet personality, VeryDarkman.
Maria has faced public opprobrium after Okafor’s adopted daughter, Jasmine, alleged she planned to splurge the donation for Okafor’s medical care on cosmetic surgery and acquiring iPhone 15.
Amid the claims, VeryDarkman, who is known for cashing in on trending issues, posted a video in which he confirmed the allegations.
According to him, Okafor has lost love for his wife and, at a time, abandoned his matrimonial home to put up with a relative living in a room apartment.
Contrary to Maria’s claim, VeryDarkman said Okafor instructed his second son, and not Jasmine, to handle the donation.
In her response to the video, Maria said VeryDarkman saw her at the hospital but have not ever conversed with her.
“I am very sure you are acting and saying all these things because of what you have been told,” Maria said in a lengthy post. Maria said she did not ask for money for an iPhone 15 and buttock augmentation, as Jamine alleged.
She asked rhetorically: “How can a sensible person be talking about doing BBL, buying iPhone 15 or any other luxury thing when her husband is lying terrible sick in the hospital?”
Maria confirmed she once had a women’s talk about having a buttock augmentation with Jasmine but said it happened a long time ago.
She accused Jamine of secretly recording the conversation and presenting the same as if it held recently. She also revealed Jasmine and her stepson are planning to relocate abroad in December, leaving her to take care of her husband all by herself.
