Manchester United FC has reacted to the explosive interview Cristiano Ronaldo granted to Piers Morgan.
Ronaldo, in the interview, disparaged the club’s coach Erik Ten Hag, accusing him of disrespecting him.
“Some people, they don’t want me here – not only the coach but the other two or three guys. Not only this year, but last year too,” he said in reference to Hag.
“Honestly, I shouldn’t say that. But listen, I don’t care. People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed.”
The star player also took a swipe at Wayne Rooney, accusing him of criticising him persistently.
In its statement on Monday, the club said it “notes the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo.
“The club will consider its response after the full facts have been established.
“Our focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season and continuing the momentum, belief and togetherness being built among the players, manager, staff, and fans,” according to the statement.
