Man, 64, shoots wife to death for threatening to divorce him
A 64-year-old man has shot his wife to death, after she threatened to divorce him.
The man, Kwaku Obeng, a Ghanaian, killed his 44-years-old wife in their home.
The Cornet gathered from local media reports that the police received a distress call on the killing and swiftly arrested Obeng, who is a farmer and popularly known as ‘Joseph money’.
The wife, Sophia Akosua Boahemaa, died on the spot in their home located at Anyemi near Jacobu, in the Amansei Central District of the Ashanti Region.
Police Commander, Supt Iddrisu confirmed the incident.
Supt Iddrisu explained their preliminary investigations have revealed the deceased threatened to divorce her husband.
However, it is not immediately known what triggered the divorce threats.
The suspect, he said, is currently in custody assisting with investigations and soon to be arraigned.
The body of the deceased has also been deposited at the St Peters Hospital mortuary at Jacobu.
