Lagos man dies following brawl with friend

A Lagos bus driver, identified only as Wasiu, has lost his life following a brawl with his friend.

The said Wasiu reportedly had a fight with someone at the Ojodu-Berger motor park, where he was operating.

During the fight, he reportedly reached for a broken battle, but his opponent had the upper hand as he slammed Wasiu to the ground. The bottle in Wasiu’s hand shattered into pieces, while its figments penetrated the body of toddler whose mother sold alcoholic drinks nearby.

The baby began bleeding and was rushed to the hospital, but he allegedly died. Infuriated, the baby’s father, Ikman, took Wasiu on in another fight. He later became unconscious and left for dead.

Wasiu eventually died and his corpse was left lying unattended at the motor park, before police officers of the Ojodu Division evacuated him.

According to PUNCH, Wasiu’s colleagues said he must have died due to an internal bleeding.

“Ikman was a close friend to Wasiu. He also drives a commercial bus plying the Berger-Obalende route. Wasiu would not have died, but Ikman deliberately left him unconscious on the floor after the attack without any attempt to revive him.”

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, claimed he was unaware of the development despite the victim’s remains being evacuated by police operatives.
