Man remanded for luring minor into pornography

A Benin High Court has remanded 34-year-old Efoghe Osamudiamen in Oko Correctional Centre for luring a minor into pornography.

The victim, now 19 years old, had started partaking in pornographic filming at the age of 14.

The victim’s friend had tipped off the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), leading to Efoghe’s arrest and subsequent arraignment.

NAPTIP said that Efoghe’s offence contravened Section 17 of Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration.

In a short ruling on the motion ex parte by the agency, Justice Geraldine Imadegbelo, ordered Efoghe’s remand till May 10, 2023, when the case would be mentioned.
