Ghana police hunt down officer for killing girlfriend
A Ghanaian police officer Ahmed Twumasi was taken into custody after his eventual arrest for shooting a 26-year-old mother of one believed to be his girlfriend to death.
The killer police inspector had committed the crime in Kumasi, the capital of Ghana’s Ashanti region.
Ghanaweb is reporting that Twumasi, a member of the Ashanti region’s police “Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) unit, fled into hiding after the shooting.
A special operation on Sunday however smoked him out of his hideout located in the same Ashanti region.
Ghana police service said “the suspect had been on the run since the incident” and that he would be ” presented below a court of law to face justice” now that he has been arrested.
