FG’s crisis team to tackle rising cooking gas price

The federal government has raised a crisis team to tackle the rising price of cooking gas. The team is expected to force down the price within a week and address supply challenges.

Ekperikpe Ekpo, minister of (State) petroleum resources (gas),  said that reasons for the increased price include FX sourcing for imports and the insufficient supply to the domestic market.

The team comprises officials of Chevron Nigeria Limited led by Sansay Narasimi; Nigerian Midstream Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) led by its Chief Executive Officer, Farouk Ahmed and the NNPCL.

The committee, headed by the NMDPRA boss, is to make recommendations on how to boost supplies and crash LPG prices.
