FG demarketing me – Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 poll, has accused the ruling party of demarketing him.

Obi said this on Tuesday while responding to the allegation of incitement and instigating insurrection.

Minister of Information Lai Mohammed made the allegation in the U.S. But Obi denied the minister’s claims, saying he had always advocated peace.

He said, “It is most unfortunate that these consistent efforts to portray me quite contrary to what I am, and my core values, is coming from such high quarters. Minister Lai accusing me of stoking insurrection is totally malicious and fictitious.”

Obi added he had “never sponsored or preached any action against the Nigerian state.”

“Those initiating these actions have increasingly used their official positions and agents to make false allegations against me.

“I am on record …advocating for peace and issue-based campaign and never campaigned based on ethnicity or religion. I am committed to due process, and presently seeking redress in the Court. ”

Obi has been in the news since a leaked telephone conversation he had with influential pastor, David Oyedepo, surfaced.

In the audio, a voice believed to Obi’s could be heard describing the election as a ” religious war” while pressuring Oyedepo to influence Christians in the Southwest and Kwara to vote for him.
