Enugu native doctor turns ‘killer’ as charm fails him
The police are holding a native doctor Emmanuel Odo for murder, after he shot dead his client who sought him for a gunshot protection charm.
Odo, after preparing the charm, attempted to prove its potency by shooting at the client, Benedict Onunze. The charm however failed, as the shot from the locally-made single barrel gun dispatched Onunze to his early grave.
Daniel Ndukwe, spokesperson for the Enugu State Police Command, revealed the incident in a statement he issued to the press.
According to him, the incident took place on the 16th November, at about 11p.m, in Isi-Uzo. The deceased hailed from Eha-Amufu community, located within the same LGA.
“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect confessed to having used a locally-fabricated single-barrel gun to shoot and murder the said victim in his shrine at the mentioned location while testing the gunshot protection charm he had prepared for him.
“The gun has been recovered while further investigation is ongoing at the Homicide Section of the State CID, Enugu,” the police said.
