Ekiti Governor-Elect Denies Vote Buying Allegation Â

Abiodun Oyebanji, Ekiti governor-elect, has denied the allegation of vote buying against his All Progressives Congress (APC) during the Saturday poll.

He made the denial after visiting President Muhammadu Buhari at the presidential villa, Abuja.

The governor-elect said his victory was a product of his previous performance as the Secretary to the Ekiti State Government (SSG).

Oyebanji was accompanied on the visit by the APC national chairman Abdullahi Adamu. Others in the entourage are incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State, and Governor Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa State; Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Niyi Adebayo.

INEC had declared Oyebanji the winner of the poll with 187,057 votes. The first and second runners-up are Social Democratic Party candidate Segun Oni (82,211) and Bisi Kolawole of the Peoples Democratic Party (67,457 votes).
