Ekiti burglars arrested with ‘large quantity of women lingerie’

The police in Ekiti have arrested one Segun Olamide, a.k.a Confidence, for breaking into 16 apartments and shops in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

In its statement on Olamide’s arrest, the police said the suspects carted away “numerous valuables”.

Olamide, the police said, “confessed” to committing the crime. He reportedly mentioned his accomplice as one Olatunji Micheal, a resident of Akure, Ondo state. The other members of the gang are said to be on the run.

“The two suspects arrested led the Police operatives to where they hid some of the stolen items. The recovered items are fifteen varieties of electronic appliances, two hundred and twenty pairs of male and female shoes, two hundred and seventy-five male and female clothes, assorted wines, and provisions and foodstuffs.

Equally recovered from the suspects is a “large quantity of women accessories and lingerie”.

The police said it is making effort ‘to arrest the fleeing suspects and recover more items.’
