Buhari says reason he did not attend APC caucus meeting

Former president Muhammadu Buhari has said why he was absent from his party’s caucus and national executive council meetings, held on Wednesday in Abuja.

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) had fixed Wednesday and Thursday for the meetings, which are expected to draw its top echelons.

Stating his excuse, Buhari said that “conveyed his apologies” to the party, citing “commitments earlier made” as the reason for his absence.

Buhari, in his statement, expressed “his support and commitment to the party, at the same time wishing it a good meeting, as the leaders take decisions on issues of importance to the party and the nation.”

The meeting is coming less than a month after the party’s former national chairman and national secretary, Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore resigned from their positions.
