Female student burnt to death in Sokoto over blasphemy

A female student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education, in Wamako,  Sokoto state, has been burnt to death for allegedly blaspheming Prophet Muhammed.

Report has it that an irate mob had beaten her before setting her on fire.

The deceased, identified only as Ms Deborah, was accused of making incendiary comments about Prophet Mohammed on campus.

The mob was said to have pursued her to the security post, where she took refuge.

Following the incident, the school authorities have closed down the institution.
