Benue commission of information kidnapped
Gun-wielding kidnappers have seized the Benue state Commissioner of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Matthew Abo.
The politician was at his residence in his hometown of Zaki-Biam community, in the Ukum Local Government Area, when the gunmen struck on Sunday night.
The four kidnappers reportedly rode on a motorcycle to Abo’s house. According to Tahav Agerzua, a politician, the gunmen, upon their arrival at Abo’s residence, ordered his wife and children to lie face down. It was amid the melee that they took Abo away.
Kula Tersoo, the chief press secretary to the state Governor Hyacinth Alia, confirmed the incident.
“We received the unfortunate development and His Excellency, Governor Hyacinth Alia has already directed and detailed the security operatives to ensure his safe release from the kidnappers den,” he said.
