Terrorists strike in Buhari’s Katsina as president faces impeachment threat

President Muhammadu Buhari’s home state of Katsina came under another terrorist attack Wednesday.

The broad daylight attack reportedly took place at Dantsauni village, in Batagarawa Local Government Area, leaving three dead and several people injured.

The heavily armed attackers rode into the community on motorcycles at about 3:55 pm, announcing their welcome with sporadic shooting.

It was at a time Muslim faithful were preparing for afternoon prayer.

The armed men abducted scores of women and children, according to a source.

Rounds of gunshots were heard around Katsina Ring Road, a location not far from Katsina town.

The attack lasted about 45 minutes, but security agencies were not on sight.

SP Gambo Isah, spokesperson for Katsina Police Command, confirmed the incident.
