Undergraduate’s decomposing body found inside bush

Relatives of an undergraduate who had gone missing revealed they found her decomposing corpse inside a bush in Abuja.

The unnamed victim was, until her death, working and studying at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).

She had gone to her place of work, located in Garki area of Abuja on the day she was declared missing.

The deceased’s brother, Genesis Moses Karami, said they found the victim’s corpse inside a bush in the Karmo district of the Federal Capital Territory.

Karami stated that a strange caller had told him he discovered his sister’s corpse at an area called, Idu. He said the claim by the strange called turned out to be a hoax as he and a group of policemen visited the scene but did not find her corpse.

“We saw her decomposed body in the bush here at Karmo, it’s not something we can move, we have to arrange with the environmental people to come and help us pack.

“We cannot travel with it. We just have to bury it here. It seems she died for days due to the nature of the decomposition,” Karami said sadly while trying to sound strong,” Karami told Whistler.

Following the victim’s disappearance, the police arrested her boyfriend, identified as Aminu.

The Police Criminal Investigation Department is currently investigating the victim’s death.
