Nigeria Army hints on killing of notorious kidnapper

The Nigerian Army has said that troops might have killed a notorious kidnapper named Boderi during a fierce gun fight in Kaduna State.

An army statement issued by Onyema Nwachukwu, a major general, said Boderi led several high-profile kidnappings, including those involving some schoolgirls in Yauri,  some victims at Greenfield University and others from the Nigerian Defence Academy, all in Kaduna.

Nwachukwu said intelligence sources claimed Boderi and another notorious kidnapper, Bodejo, were among insurgents killed by troops.

He said the troops ambushed the insurgents on Wednesday, along the Bada – Riyawa axis on the Kaduna – Birnin Gwari Road, Kaduna State.

However, Nwachukwu said he cannot say with certainty about Boderi’s killing as at the time he was speaking.
