Aregbesola’s allies snub Oyetola’s panel

There is an indication that allies of minister of interior Rauf Aregbesola in the All Progressives Congress in Osun state would shun a reconciliatory panel instituted by former governor Gboyega Oyetola.

Aregbesola’s loyalists had reportedly said that they did not get firsthand information about the meeting and they would attend it.

Setting up the panel, headed by former minister of health Issac Adewole, Oyetola charged it with looking into the party crisis and recommending an ethical reward system in Osun State. It also urged the panel to propose templates for resolving existing or future grievances among party members.

He said, “If the Osun electorate could identify with us despite the intimidation, harrassment, violence and killings perpetrated by the PDP, then, we must brace up to sustain the interest of the Osun people in our party.

“To do that, we must also not gloss over some of the challenges caused by the excesses of some members of the party, some leaders and elected officials. Hence, the inauguration of this committee.”
