Peter Obi announces first task, if elected president

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has said that his first task, if elected Nigeria’s president in 2023, would be to tackle the insecurity in the country. He said this following the death of Mrs. Victoria Chintex, the women leader of the LP in Kaura, Kaduna State.

TheCornet learned some unidentified gunmen murdered Victoria.

Expressing his grief, Peter Obi said he had been shocked by the “mindless killing” of Victoria.

“Her death is a huge loss to her immediate and extended family, and to our Labour Party.

“Her killing and the loss of many innocent lives across the nation to gunmen and terrorists are the reason why I must prioritize the war against insecurity as my first task in office. We must not allow the waste of human lives in Nigeria under any guise,” Obi stated.

In his own statement following the murder, Edward Buju, the national publicity secretary of the party for Kaura LGA urged residents “to be law abiding as vengeance is of the Lord.”
