Relative backs man who stabbed wife, son
Relatives of a man, Emmanuel Haruna, who stabbed his wife and son with a knife, have shown support for his action.
In a report by Punch, Emmanuel’s elder brother, James, vowed legal action when he was asked for his comment on the issue.
James avowed his family would ‘head for court and everything will be unraveled there.’
Emmanuel’s sister, also, declined request for a comment.
According to the story, Emmauel and his wife Victoria had separated over repeated incidences of domestic violence. But, Emmanuel would often ask for her forgiveness while pleading for her return to his house.
On the fateful day, Emmanuel had made similar request but the wife declined. She reportedly insisted that Emmanuel write an undertaking never to abuse her again. He had made similar undertakings three times but would always renege on them. Emmanuel declined the wife’s request.
Instead, he brought out a knife and stabbed her in the chest. The son who tried to save his mother from the attack also sustained an injury to his stomach.
Explaining her ordeal, Victoria said: “My son that went with my husband ran back panting and sweating.
“Shortly his father appeared and started begging me for forgiveness, I told him that I had forgiven him, but can’t stay with him.
“I was about to walk out when he grabbed me from behind and held me by the neck; he had a knife with him and stabbed me in my right chest with force and shouted, ‘Die!’
“He removed the knife and stabbed me in my left and right hands.
“He also targeted my neck, but I managed to dodge it. He stabbed me in the back. My son was shouting and begging him not to kill me.”
Victoria also said her husband stabbed his son during his rage.
“Neighbours were trying to open the door, but they couldn’t. My son summoned courage to push him away. He used the knife on my son’s stomach. The boy narrowly dodged another attempt to stab him before neighbours came to our rescue.”
Emmanuel reportedly fled the scene, leaving behind his mobile phones and car key.
He has not been sighted since then.
