Buhari must find Mailafia’s killers – HURIWA

The Human Rights Writers Association (HURIWA) has said the death on Sunday of Dr. Obadiah Mailafia is “suspicious”, calling on President Muhammad Buhari to investigate it.

The group said Mailafia had expressed fear about his life, in which he allegedly said, “Please, pray for me, I have reasons to believe that my life is in danger and that some powerful forces want to silence me forever for speaking the truth”.

“The death of Obadiah Mailafia is highly suspicious and must be investigated.”

The group urged President Buhari “to immediately fish out blood thirsty officials working in Aso Rock who are issuing personal threats to human rights campaigners.”

TheCornetNewshad reported the Middle Belt Forum accusations that doctors refused pleas by the Mailafia’s family members to resuscitate him, after his breathing became abnormal.
