OAU don, Aregbesola’s allies make Adeleke commissioners’ list
A professor in the department of science and technical education at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, made the list of commissioner-nominees Governor Ademola Adeleke submitted to the Osun state house of assembly on Thursday.
Governor Adeleke equally made the surprise inclusion of two former commissioners, who had served in former governor Rauf Aregbesola’s cabinet. They are Kolapo Alimi and Biyi Odunlade.
Aregbesola has no love lost for his successor, Gboyega Oyetola. The disagreement between him and Oyetola is believed to have paved the way for Adeleke’s victory in the 2022 governorship poll.
Reading the commissioners’ list to the state lawmakers, Speaker Adewale Egbedun, directed an ad-hoc committee to screen the nominees and send their names for confirmation.
“The committee is formed to critically screen commissioners and special advisers nominees of Osun state.
“Each nominee must come with 35 copies of their curriculum vitae and declare their assets,” the speaker said.
