Judged forced to adjourn in Emefiele’s suit

A federal judge, Hamza Muazu, failed to hear the corruption suit filed against the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele due to the struggle between security operatives and journalists trying to take photographs of him.

The Thursday incident forced Justice Muazu to adjourn hearing till August 23.

Officials of the Department of State Services (DSS), policemen, and lawyers had shielded Emefiele from the waiting journalists. But upon learning of his presence in the courtroom, the journalists quickly dashed there but the security operatives prevented them.
