Veteran actor Jimi Solanke dies

Jimi Solanke, a veteran actor and folk singer, has died, aged 81 years old.

He was said to have died in the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital.

The late Solanke graduated from the University of Ibadan, earning a diploma certificate in drama.

According to Wikipedia, Solanke, after graduation, proceeded to the United States. While there, he created a drama group called The Africa Review, focusing on African culture.

In 1986, he returned to Nigeria with three members of the African Review group to work with the Nigerian Television Authority.
