Police urged to prosecute killers of slain supporter

Some assailants believed to be party thugs killed a man, George Sibo, at the collation center in Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Saturday.

In response to the incident, Hanson Alabo-Karika, chairman of Brass LGA, urged the police to find and prosecute his assailants. The decease, known as “Kobo-Kobo”, is said to be Alabo-Karika’s aide before his murder.

CSP Asinim Butswat, spokesman for Police in Bayelsa state, said he was awaiting details from the Police Area Commander of Brass.

In his statement on Saturday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed that violence that took place in Brass. The electoral body said some of its officials were held hostage.
