Emefiele in court clutching giant bible ( See photos)

Godwin Emefiele, Nigeria’s suspended central bank chief, stunned court attendees and onlookers as he turned out in a white jalabiya wear while clutching at a giant bible before his arraignment.

The embattled Emefiele had pleaded ‘not guilty’ to the charge of unlawful possession of firearms.

Emefiele was arrested in March, after President Bola Tinubu suspended him. Tinubu alleged rot in the activities of the apex bank under Emefiele, adding his removal would pave the way for needed reforms and investigation by the law enforcements.
