Embattled Ghandi to fight removal as Soun of Ogbomoso

Recently appointed Soun of Ogbomoso Olaoye Ghandi may file an appeal against the court decision on Wednesday that removed him from office.

Prince Ghandi ascended to the throne following a protracted conflict among the princes. Prior to his installation, he served as a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Prince Kabir Olaoye, who was not happy with Ghandi’s choice, made the decision to sue the Oyo State High Court in Ogbomoso.

Prince Ghandi was deposed as a result of the lawsuit.

The process of appointing a successor to the late Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, the immediate past king, became controversial due to disagreement among the princes.

Oyewumi passed on on December 12, 2021, aged 95 years and ruled for  48 years.
