WAEC blocks amendment of candidate’s birth date

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) says it has stopped entertaining candidates’ request for amendment to birth dates. The examination body says the same regulation applies across its five country-affiliates.

This is coming as the body recently launched its digital certificate platform. It also announced it has activated various social media accounts to resolve queries

On the Digital Certificate Platform, WAEC said candidates can “install the app from Playstore” or visit http://waec.org. Create an account under Certificate Access and proceed to access your certificate.”

The exam body adds that users should “ensure to enter your name as captured on your WAEC certificate.” The platform is only useable to candidates who sat for the examination between 1999 till date.
