11 Muslims die in Ramadan food stampede

A stampede at a Ramadan food distribution centre in Karachi, Pakistan has killed at least 11 people, all women and children.

According to Aljazerra, several others were also injured in Friday’s incident.

It is said that hundreds of people panicked and started pushing each other to collect food outside a factory.

Some of the casualties fell into a nearby drain. A well erected close to the drain equally collapsed and killed people during the stampede.

The local police claimed the factory owner who organised the free food didn’t notify them about his intention for which they could have handled crowd control.
