APC, PDP lose senators to Peter Obi’s LP, NNPP

The ranks of All Progressives Congress (APC) senators further depleted on Wednesday.

Francis Ezenwa, senator representing Imo east, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party (LP).

Also, Haliru Jika, senator representing Bauchi central, has left the All Progressives Congress for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)

Ahmed Lawan, the president of Senate, announced the defections after the two senators notified him of their decisions. The trend continued from Tuesday, when three senators resigned from the APC to join the PDP and the NNPP.

While the due of Ahmad Babba Kaita, (Katsina north) and Lawal Yahaya Gumau, (Bauchi north) kissed the APC goodbye to join the NNPP, their colleague, Francis Alimikhena decided to pitch a tent with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
