APC offered me bribes to step down for Sanwo-Olu – PDP’s Adediran (Jandor)

Olajide Adediran, the Lagos governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in the March 28 poll, has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress pressured him to step down for its candidate, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

TheCornet had reported that the electoral umpire returned Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the election, beating his two closest rivals Adediran, and Gbadebo Rhodes Vivor and Adediran. However, Adediran claimed to have secured 40 per cent of the total vote tally –a far cry from the figures he was declared to have garnered in the election.

In a string of tweets, Adediran claimed he rejected the “crumbs” offered by the “powers that be”, without actually naming anyone. The former governorship hopeful also alluded to a betrayal by his party members.

“We resisted all offers from the powers that be to back down for crumbs and when that failed, they swooped on to covet PDP Leaders and followers,” he said. Adediran chided his followers whom he said could not “persevere for a better tomorrow.”

“You would have heard the Lagos State Deputy Governor owning up to on national Television.

“They needed that to happen to justify their election-day shenanigans and truly, It is the excuse they gave today for PDP’s performance on election day.

Adediran equally said that some PDP members who defected to the ruling party were “moles” planted into his campaign team.

“These moles went as far as discouraging unsuspecting National body of our party not to send down any support for Lagos Guber election.

“Unfortunately, our party fell for it, and not a single kobo was availed us to undertake that election.

The results declared by INEC showed Sanwo-Olu winning his re-election with a total of 762,134 votes, while Rhodes Vivor and Adediran polled 312, 329 votes and 62, 449 votes respectively
