Tinubu taken into Defence House ahead of swearing in
Nigeria’s president-elect Bola Tinubu has moved into Defence House, located at Maitama in Nigeria’s federal capital, Abuja. Tinubu returned to the country on Tuesday after month-long vacationing in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
The president-elect would remain in the heavily guarded house until his swearing in as a substantive president on May 29.
The Defence House is a temporary haven for president-elects until the inauguration proper and preceeding his relocation to Aso presidential villa.
Outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari was a tenant of the secured redoubt in 2015, after he defeated then incumbent, Goodluck Jonathan.
