APC NWC not in disunity – Party

The All Progressives Congress (APC) says that there is no rancour among members of its national working committee , (NWC).

Felix Morka, the party’s national publicity secretary, in a statement on Saturday, dissociated the NWC from the comment made by its national vice chairman (northwest), Salihu Lukman, on the choice of former governor Abdullahi Ganduje becoming the ruling party’s next national chairman.

Lukman had said some days ago that the presidency and the governors’ forum had shut out NWC from picking a successor to the ousted former chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

In his statement, Morka said, “All sections of the party’s college of leadership stand united in their quest for a more progressive Party.

“While individual party leaders and members retain their right to express their personal thoughts and opinions, they do not represent the official position of the NWC or the Party.

“Official position of the NWC on the subject of succession to any vacant offices of the NWC or any other subject will be communicated via the official channels of the NWC. Change in the life of any individual or institution is constant and inevitable.”
