Benin Republic President safe, army regaining control – Presidency

The Republic of Benin presidency has dismissed the news that soldiers had taken over the control of the government.
On Sunday, a group of soldiers, under the auspices of the Military Committee for Refoundation, announced that it had taken over.
However, AFP reported President Talon’s office as saying that he is safe and that the army is regaining control.
“The regular army is regaining control. The city and the country are completely secure,” the agency quoted the Benin presidency as saying.
