Court shuns DSS request to detain Emefiele

Justice Hamza Muazu of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Abuja has rejected a request by the Department of State Services (DSS) to extend the detention of the suspended Central Bank Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, by 14 days.

Justice Muazu said the request was an abuse of court processes and that the court lacks jurisdiction to grant it.

Following the judge’s rejection, DSS’ counsel, Victor Ejelonu, withdrew the application.
