You can’t come from Abia and not be angry, says Seyi Law

Stand-up comedian, Seyitan Lawrence, better known as Seyi Law, says some natives of Abia state are justifiably angry, given the poor performance of outgoing Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

The comedian mockingly tweeted, “Oh boy! Na today, I know why there’s so much anger here (on Twitter).

“A lot of people are from ABIA STATE and couldn’t say so because of the governor whose achievement is shoprite and N500 stipend to new mothers. You can have that and not be angry. Even me, I am angry with Akeredolu of Ondo State.”

‘Seyi Law’ has faced verbal attacks from trolls over his support for the, now, elected president, and governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu and Babajide Sanwo-Olu respectively in the just concluded elections.

The divisive elections have seen other artists and movie actors, particularly of Yoruba ethnicity, being canceled and attacked even by their own colleagues and fans for supporting different candidates from theirs.

Like Lawrence, another actor, Toyin Abraham, continues to face similar bullying and death wishes on social media, particularly Twitter over her choices in the elections.

But the affected artistes have refused to buckle to the weight of online vitriol against them.

Seyi Law, reprimanding his colleagues in a particular tweet, warned that their complicity in intense hate-mongering would have some consequences.

He said, “Some of you will pretend to be civil, but keep condoning your fans to bully others … You profited by making videos that you monetized, knowing they would come in their droves to watch. You make money while they scream their hates of others, but it doesn’t matter to you. ”

The 39-year-old, who is also a compere and television host, warned of the “repercussions” of his colleagues’ complicity in online bullying.
