Yahaya Bello ends hide and seek with EFCC, surrenders finally
Yahaya Bello has surrendered to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) finally.
Bello had evaded arrest for several months and shunned the invitation for questioning into alleged theft of ₦80.2billion of public funds.
Bello’s successor, Usman Ododo, accompanied him to the EFCC headquarters on Wednesday. Bello, in his statement, said he decided to surrender to the EFCC, in order to clear his name.
“The former Governor believes firmly in the efforts of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to place Nigeria on the path of sustainable economic development; and supports the fight against corruption in the country,” the statement read.
