Woman consumed by fire in suspected murder case, son arrested

A woman identified as Mrs. Fatima Umukoro has been consumed by a mysterious fire that engulfed her residence on Sunday night.

According to a report, neighbours suspected Fatima’s death was a murder case and believed her son, Emmanuel, was responsible.

They had said that the son drove out in his mother’s car over an hour before the blaze.

Emmanuel is currently in police custody.

Bright Edafe, spokesperson for the Delta Police Command, said he couldn’t declare Emmanuel responsible as at the time of the inquiry.

“Investigation is ongoing,” Edafe stated.
