APC members at war in Buhari’s Daura LG

Some members of the All Progressives Congress in Daura, Katsina State are war over alleged imposition of an aspirant for local government  chairmanship.

President Muhammed Buhari, who is the leader of the ruling party, hails from Daura.

Aggrieved party members alleged one Bala Musa, who is a brother to former director-general of the DSS Lawal Daura, was imposed as the party’s candidate for local council poll coming up in April.

The claimed one Shehu Abdu won the primaries and was previously declared the party’s candidate, until his name was replaced with Musa’s.

Ibrahim Suleiman, who speaks for the aggrieved members, accused a commissioner from Daura emirates of victimizing Abdu.

According to him, the unnamed commissioner got Abdu arrested by falsely accusing him of collecting money from some youths.

“I wish to make it clear that Alhaji Shehu Abdu was framed with the allegation of collecting money from youths in the area to secure jobs for them,” he said.“He was detained at the state’s CID office, and presently we are discussing with our lawyers to see how we can pursue the issue.

“Unfortunately, this is happening in the President Muhammad Buhari’s LGA, and it is going to be a slap on the face of the party and it will be sending a very bad signal ahead of 2023 general elections. We are appealing to the party leaders, especially the governor to intervene so that justice can be done.”
