Why Delta Airline suspended flight from New York to Lagos – official

American airline, Delta has announced it is suspending flights from JFK airport in New York to Lagos, Nigeria. In its official statement issued Tuesday, the airline said “the current demand environment” necessitated the decision.

The airline said its decision would take effect from October 4, 2022.  It however assured its customers it would continue “to operate service between Lagos and Atlanta and offers onward connections to New York and other cities across the United States.”

It added that it would “re-accommodate travelers already booked on the suspended flight.”

The decision to suspend the flight comes eight months after the airline announced its re-entry into the Nigerian travel industry.
