We will shock Atiku at PDP convention, Wike vows

Nyesome Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has vowed the outcomes of the imminent convention of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, would shock many.

Wike said this in what apparently was a riposte to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s boast that he would always get the presidential ticket of the party.

Asked by journalists whether he was confident about getting the presidential ticket, Atiku answered magisterially:

“Have I ever failed to get the ticket?”

“I am confident I will get the ticket,” he added Atiku. He made the comment after he had met former President Olusegun Olusegun, who he deputized for eight years.

In his reaction, Wike reportedly said Abubakar appear to be taking convention delegates for granted.

“I didn’t expect him, frankly speaking, to say that he will always take the ticket of the party.

“That is going too far and taking the delegates for granted.

“People should watch, there will be shock as far as the PDP convention is concerned.

“People should watch what is going to happen. People like to underrate so many people and it is not good in politics,” said Wike.
